Abstract | The Synergy Expert Group (Hagger et al., 2016 Hagger, M. S., Luszczynska, A., de Wit, J., Benyamini, Y., Burkert, S., Chamberland, P. E., Chater, A., … Gollwitzer, P. M. (2016). Implementation intention and planning interventions in health psychology: Recommendations from the Synergy Expert Group for research and practice. Psychology & Health, 18, 1–72. [Taylor & Francis Online], [Google Scholar] ) has provided an excellent account of research agendas and priority areas helping psychologists to further advance the field and guide future research on planning in the course of health behaviour change. The group has defined planning as one means to attain goals. It has, however, not been elaborated and agreed upon further distinctions such as action planning and coping planning although this distinction is an important and useful one. Therefore, some comments to clarify the meaning of these terms are in order. Further, a comment on the evaluation of planning effectiveness is added. |
