Abstract | This essay explores the missiological significance of oppressed peoples' cultural forms of resistance. It begins with a brief exposition on the concept of the weapons of the weak, followed by a discussion of examples of these subtle resistance strategies, namely, stories, songs, and dance, as well as humor and laughter. I then offer for missionary theology and practice some theological reflections on the implications of these cultural forms of resistance, and end with a brief conclusion. |
