Description | This project was innovative for its unique, sustained engagement with over 100 palliative care staff working at St Vincent’s. This is the first time St Vincent’s has collaborated with an artist-in-residence and used art as a vehicle for reflection. It was the first time artworks were exhibited at St Vincent’s Private Hospital and patients, staff and the general public were invited to submit research questionnaires asking how the artworks affected their ideas of mortality and the role of art in mediating questions of life and death. These reflections provide a distinct framework for continued research on death as a provocation for creative practice. |
