Abstract | In the study TEDS-FU - a follow-up study to the international teacher education study TEDS M - mathematics-pedagogical content knowledge (MPCK) and general pedagogical knowledge (GPK) were evaluated by means of a digital paper-and-pencil-test. In addition, mathematics-pedagogical and general pedagogical competences were assessed through situation-related video-based tests. Detailed analyses on task level reveal that the professional competence of teachers may be evaluated more adequately by combining the assessment of both knowledge and skills. Furthermore, the analyses show that a practice-oriented situational assessment of mathematics-pedagogical and general pedagogical competences allows for greater insight into the commonalities of both domains than the evaluation of knowledge based on theory-oriented contexts. |
