Abstract | The Elements project advances the field of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) in relation to the neuroscience of movement. The project integrates principles from ecological systems theory, advances in cognitive neuroscience with developments in computer science. This paper introduces a novel approach to rehabilitation of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients using virtual environments. We incorporate a novel force platform interface to simulate locomotor activity in a virtual landscape, and provide augmented feedback to support skill acquisition in these patients. |
