Abstract | [Extract] In this chapter, we describe the impact that cerebral palsy can have on the body, and on the activities and participation of individuals. In addition, we present briefly what is known about how environmental and personal factors affect outcomes for people with cerebral palsy, along with a description of procedures used to identify individuals at particular risk for associated impairments or conditions that have an impact on the long-term health and well-being of people with cerebral palsy. This information provides background to each of the subsequent chapters. |
