Abstract | Managing organisational change remains a core competence for organisational survival, renewal, development, and competitive advantage, This paper examines a specific type of large-scale organisational change, business transformation (BT), which is viewed as strategic and anticipatory and focused on implementing new or enhanced organisational capabilities-fundamentally, information-technology-enabled business processes. BT success here is defined as the effective, and sustainable, implementation of targeted organisational capabilities. This paper aims to enhance understanding of BT by developing a new model of BT success, grounded in the integration of theoretical perspectives from the fields of organisational change, communication diffusion of innovation, and communication-network analysis. |
