Abstract

During the month of November 2007, two separate but related occurrences highlighted the urgency of the meetings held in December 2007 on the Indonesian island of Bali. The meetings sought to develop global agreement to deal with climate change and over-heating of the planet and to forge a more effective successor to the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012.
