Abstract | [Extract] The goal of this chapter is to explore the obstacles and opportunities for treating sarcopenia using a nutrition-focused approach. While it is clear that sarcopenia is the result of a complex interplay of various factors, in all cases, an adequate nutritional framework is the fundamental prerequisite for maintaining muscle mass, strength and ultimately functional capacity. |
