Abstract

[Extract] This chapter concerns the links between emotion and memory at one wellknown medieval site, the abbey of St Denis in Paris. This royal abbey has left us with a range of material and textual sources, especially for the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, which can provide important insights into the use of this religious location and its emotional and mnemonic dimensions.
