Abstract | We selected these activities to include because we thought they would relate to Derek's sense of fun and humour which we loved about him. We think he would enjoy the story of Maggie and could just imagine the dramatic scenes as he demonstrated his magical powers in the second activity. For the teacher Key ideas: The probability of an event occurring is not necessarily influenced by the outcomes of the previous events. Anticipated student responses/misconceptions: Difficulty in relinquishing beliefs about luck (e.g. heads are lucky). |
