Abstract | In February 2024, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency published the Gender Pay Gaps for every Australian employer with 100 or more employees. Around 500,000 employees in Education and Training - Australia’s third largest industry and one of only two female-dominated industries - can now use our national dataset to see how their employer values the contribution of women and men in the workforce. The data includes private sector employers with 100 or more employees in Preschool and School Education, Tertiary Education, and Adult, Community and Other Education. In this presentation I identify trends in our dataset and share what would happen to the national gender pay gap if Education and Training was removed from the equation. I then outline steps employers can take to remediate their gender pay gaps. This presentation provides data driven insights for policy makers and researchers, and guidance for employers. |
