Abstract

This chapter brings together the knowledge on research gained from reading this text and aims to help you navigate the research process. We start with identifying a research problem or an area of interest and the steps taken to understand what is already known on the issue. We provide guidance on how to access support from more-experienced researchers and encourage you to identify a research mentor. For people interested in undertaking research, we provide guidance on how to write a research proposal, plan a research project and then consider how research needs to be both disseminated and translated into practice settings. We understand that research can be daunting, but we hope to inspire you and encourage you to participate in a research project, and maybe even become a future nurse or midwife researcher.
