Abstract
Previous Hamstring Strain Injury (HSI) and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries represent predominant risk factors for recurring HSI. Recurring injury rates remain high with athletes also magnifying the scale and severity of the recurrence injury to approximately 30%. Croisier et al (1) developed a standardised isokinetic assessment to identify Hamstring strength disorders, incorporating eccentric and concentric testing of the Hamstrings and concentric testing of the Quadriceps muscle groups. The purpose of the study was to investigate bilateral and ipsilateral isokinetic strength characteristics and determine their influence on Hamstring injury rates.
