Abstract
[Extract] The aim of this book is to guide health practitioners in understanding how to develop and present a portfolio that demonstrates their professional efforts, progress and capabilities. Employers and regulatory authorities require individual practitioners to continue learning after entry to practice in order to achieve continuing safe healthcare. This responsibility of practitioners includes keeping sufficient evidence of quality practice and performance. This final chapter provides some practical examples of the approaches different health practitioners might take in developing their professional portfolio in the following roles: • midwifery (contribution from Sara Bayes) • registered nursing (contribution from Lisa Devey) • enrolled nursing (contribution from Síobhán Bidgood) • occupational therapy (contribution from Sue Gilbert-Hunt) • paramedicine (contribution from Joe Acker) • pharmacy (contribution from Kearney Gleadhill).
