Abstract
For education students, Mazurek (education, U. of Lethbridge, Canada) and Winzer (early childhood education and special education, U. of Lethbridge, Canada) present essays by 26 educators and scholars from 16 countries on comparative education. Their study describes the educational systems of these countries, how they relate to society, and what the international debates are. Each essay includes a description of the nation's society, education system and practices, strengths and weaknesses, and debates. Essays are arranged geographically and focus on the Pacific Rim, the Middle East, Southwest Asia, Europe, North America, South Africa, and Brazil.
