Abstract
[Extract] David Brown's Divine Humanity is an important contribution to contemporary Christology and Christian theology more generally, given the central importance of Christology for Christians. As will become clear, I not only learned a huge amount from this book, but found myself agreeing with most of its important points. In this essay I shall try to summarize the book's considerable accomplishments, and then develop my own critical suggestion, from the perspective of a Christian philosopher. I shall argue that although the account of the incarnation Brown put forward may offer a viable and even promising Christology, it is not a fully kenotic Christology, a least as I understand the concept.
