Abstract
[Extract] This chapter argues that research on assessment-related emotions needs to go beyond test anxiety and calls for research that explores the role of emotions in various types of assessments. We suggest guidelines for fostering favorable student emotions and preventing emotions that may harm the validity of achievement assessment.
