Abstract
Now 7 Years Later is a 10 minute digital video (still) that was included as part of The Fall Before Fall exhibition at UTS Gallery, University of Technology Sydney, between 14 September to 14 October 2011. Informed by Michael Apted’s Seven Up series, Richardson interviewed multiple people photographed in Fremantle (Western Australia) by Christine Gosfield in her work called 9/11..... defining home. The video installation includes many of these people’s reflections on their experiences as images and written words transcribed on to a blackboard in unsteady lines of handwriting. The installation was first staged at the Fremantle Arts Centre as a commission in response to the 50th anniversary of the City of Fremantle’s collection of art. The UTS Gallery installation reconfigured the Fremantle Arts Centre installation and included additional video and audio sequences that had been developed specifically for The Fall Before Fall exhibition.
