Abstract
[Extract] Teacher in Victorian schools have been using the Early Numeracy Interview, now called the Mathematics Online Interview, since 2001, following its development in the Early Numeracy Research Project in 1999. In 2008, the Fractions Online Interview was introduced as a suggested formative assessment tool. All of the interview scripts, task templates, supporting information, and a booklet of associated classroom activities are available for public download on the website of the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. The four fraction tasks that we discuss in this chapter can also be found there.
