Abstract
This article presents the argument that it is important for all secondary schools, especially those that follow Christian teachings such as Christian independent and Catholic schools, to incorporate the teaching of human rights into their curriculum. It starts with an explanation of what sparked the author's own interest in human rights during a religious education class, and then briefly presents the concepts of human rights and human rights education. It then argues that teaching about human rights is very suitable for Generation Y, and finally it examines the place of human rights in the Judeo-Christian tradition.
