Abstract

The article focuses on the situated approach to Australian History teaching in the Australian History curriculum. Among the topics discussed include the development and implementation, the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA), emphasis on the development of historical thinking in the history classroom, and purpose and practice of history education.
