Abstract | I want to begin by expressing my appreciation to Arash Abizadeh, Rainer Bauböck, and David Miller for their thoughtful engagement with my book. They have helped me to think more deeply about a range of issues even when I have resisted their conclusions. All three raise questions about my methodology and especially about the relationship between the earlier and later chapters of my book. That is the topic that will be the focus of my response. |
