Abstract | The Human Rights Convention is an intensive Interdisciplinary Program designed for Year 8 students at Carey Baptist Grammar School. The program runs for five days and is designed to provide students with an understanding of fundamental human rights, as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and to become aware of current and historical human rights issues both internationally and in Australia. Ideally, the program raises students' awareness of human rights issues and also empowers them to be able to contribute positively to protect human rights in the world and in their own school.
