Abstract

This article examines the history of Mazzi.ni's Free Italian School in London from its origins in the early 1840s until its clcsure in the early 1860s. Education played a critical role in Mazzini's political thought. The article argues that the Free Italian School is historically significant as an example of Mazzinian ideas in action.
