Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the differences in scientific inquiry self-efficacy among high school vocational students after participating in scientific inquiry cultural and creative workshops and mediating effect performance. Scientific inquiry cultural and creative workshops are held in the northern, central and southern districts of Taiwan to cultivate high school vocational students' understanding of have curiosity and imagination in natural sciences, and the creative ability to express scientific inquiry through words, images, and comics.
The academic inquiry cultural and creative workshop consists of two stages of courses. The first stage is a 2-hour "Scientific Inquiry Ability Development Course". The second stage it is a 3-hour "Scientific Inquiry, Cultural and Creative Practice Course". A total of 480 high school vocational students participated in this workshop, and at the end of the course. Afterwards, fill in the online version of the "Scientific Inquiry Self-Efficacy Questionnaire" with good validity.
This study found that: 1. South District High School Vocational School Students' scientific inquiry self-efficacy is significantly higher than that of students in the central district; 2. Male students' scientific inquiry self-efficacy is significantly higher than that of female students; 3. The scientific inquiry self-efficacy of high school vocational students who actively participated in the workshop was significantly higher than that of other students who passively participated; 4. The total score of scientific inquiry self-efficacy of high school vocational students has a highly significant positive relationship with the sub-dimensions of "Inquiry Ability" and "Scientific Performance" Joint; 5. The "participation" and "interest and curiosity" of high school vocational students have a significant impact on "exploration ability" and "scientific performance" predictive power.
