Abstract

Upon completion of this chapter, the reader will be able to provide an overview of self-care, play, leisure and productivity including education, paid work, and volunteerism across the lifespan, and discuss the importance of occupation to the development of routines and rituals, values, health and well-being, engagement, personal identity, and roles. This chapter will also help the readers to outline key points of transitioning occupations across the lifespan.
