Abstract | The authors discuss a report released by Canberra's Office of the Chief Scientist in May 2012 about the importance of a workforce trained in engineering, mathematics and science and the effort to improve the teaching of mathematics at secondary schools in Australia. They offer information on the contribution of Kim Beswick, president of the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers, including the A.B. Paterson College's international mathematics challenge and conference. |
